Lake Havasu Pyrotechnics
Every year about Valentines Day, Lake Havasu City, AZ, has an annual Pyrotechnics event put on by Western Pyrotechnic Association, WPA, at the SARA park, just south of Lake Havasu City. This is the show event for sales of fireworks for North America, especially the 4th of July.
We went with our friends at the Sun City Festival RV Club and stayed a very nice campground in Parker AZ @ Buckskin Mountain State Park. If you haven’t been to this Pyrotechnics show you haven’t seen anything like it, anywhere. It went on for 2 hours and was spectacular. We thought the fireworks on the Mall in Washington DC was great, but this is amazing. They have it several days but the best days are Friday for the Disney display and Saturday for the main event.
If you plan on going you need to make hotel or RV park reservations a year in advance so be warned. We did meet people who made the round trip from the Phoenix area just for Saturday night, without a hotel. It is about 90 minutes from western Phoenix.
Also, many people watch from the surrounding hills or strip mall. If you do this you miss all of the events inside the rodeo grounds which is a lot. Plan to get to the park early and take chairs and shade, sunscreen and a blanket after dark because even in February it will be 90 degrees and sunshine during the day and 50’s at night.
We have posted several pics and 2 videos.

Videos may or may not show up at
I have an additional 17-minute video for the fireworks they opened with and a 5-minute final that are too big to post and watch from the road.
Have fun out there.
